Know Your Rights Seminar for Parents and Those Expecting at the Brookline Public Library on Saturday, July 21st

Spring – actual spring – has finally reared its little head.  The official start to the season this year, March 20th, was like a baby’s due date: Unreliable.  It’s no matter now, we’ve forgotten winter already; we have budding life all around us.  As busy as the birds and bees this time of year, many moms and dads are made right here in Brookline.  For these happy couples, 2018 is a special year as two Massachusetts laws go into effect.

Please join us at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 21st, at the Public Library of Brookline in Brookline Village for a civil rights presentation on:

The Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, an act prohibiting employer discrimination against and requiring reasonable accommodation of a pregnant employee, including light-duty work and post-pregnancy needs related to lactation;

and

The (newly revised) Massachusetts Equal Pay Act, an act requiring equal pay between men and women that may require equal paid paternity leave where an employer already offers paid maternity leave.

Subject to change, please R.S.V.P. to lucas@lucasnewbill.com
